Internet Explorer Active Scripting in a Restricted Zone

Issue

The Active scripting option determines whether Microsoft Internet Explorer can run script code on pages in the zone. If you enable this option, embedded scripts might start without warning.

Note: Active scripting is enabled in the restricted zone by default in Windows 2000. This issue was fixed in Service Pack 1.

Solution

Disable the Active scripting option for the Internet Explorer Restricted zone.

Instructions

Perform the following steps:

  1. Start Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. Click the Security tab, click Restricted sites, and then click Custom Level.
  4. In the Security Settings dialog box, scroll down to the Active Scripting section, and then click Disable.
